Agreement to Protect Artist Opportunity

The Florida Sculptors Guild is a non-profit 501c3 arts organization working to foster business relationships with commercial, private and individual entities interested in sculptural art. We develop relationships that support our mission and bring opportunities to our artists and educational opportunities to the public.

Non-Compete:

Members agree not to contact or approach any business, organization or individual with whom FSG has sought and cultivated a professional relationship. Members agree not to solicit these entities for the purposes of selling their art or for the purpose of extending invitations on their behalf.

Members agree not to disclose FSG contacts with non-members. Members also agree not to request non-members to contact FSG business partners or associates on their behalf for the purposes of selling art.

Exclusions: The Non-Compete clause does not extend to museums, galleries, festivals or any other public venue where a general Call For Artist is publicly advertised.

Time Period:

This agreement is for a membership year from Jan. 1st -to- Dec. 31st. It applies to each year the artist is a member of the Florida Sculptors Guild. The member is held by this agreement until December 31st regardless of a status change during any month of the year. If a member cancels for any reason, the member remains bound by this agreement until Dec. 31st of the membership year.

Artist Responsibilities:

As sculptors, we have to transport our work and collect it at the end of the exhibits. We are responsible for furnishing our pedestals and ensuring that wall art is equipped with hanging wire on the backside. In the event, a piece of art is damaged while on exhibit, it is the artist's responsibility to cover damages under their own insurance unless the venue provides said coverage.

Membership dues:

Membership dues are required of each member starting at the time of them joining. An administration fee is added for new members. Should a member not pay his or her dues for 24 consecutive months, the member must rejoin the guild including its associated current new member fees.

Volunteering:

FSG is an all-volunteer arts organization for sculpture in Central Florida.  Although we occasionally hire professionals for special projects, we are able to sustain ourselves only through member participation in jobs and tasks associated with art exhibits, meetings, programs, collaborative projects, revenue, community outreach, administration, marketing, and PR.  We are pleased to count many excellent sculptors among our numbers and find ourselves growing into larger markets and opportunities each year.  An active volunteer membership is the key to a thriving organization which benefits all.

Consequently, from time-to-time, we ask members for help.
